AAL Responds to U.S. Breakbulk Demand

BBN has learned that heavylift company AAL has scheduled 12 MPP sailings calling to West Coast, Gulf and East Coast US ports over May and June 2020 in response to increased demand from american global shippers.

According to seanews, AAL is refocusing efforts on the Asia-North America trade lane where it aims to ramp up focus and tonnage allocation. They foresee continued activity from wind energy parks and LNG facilities infrastructure with a relatively healthy pipeline in these segments up to 2023-24.

There has been a significant portion of cargo on these vessels representing the energy sector: wind, power generation and LNG components. We have also been carrying a fair bit of steel products, where we are gaining market share,” said Michael Morland, general manager Americas at AAL Shipping.
