Air France KLM Martinair Cargo Partners with WFS to Boost Sustainable Aviation Fuel Initiative

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP Cargo) has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to environmental sustainability by partnering with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to enhance the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). WFS, a key Ground Handling Agent for AFKLMP Cargo at multiple stations across the United States, officially joined the SAF program in a signing ceremony held at JFK Airport in New York.

The ceremony was attended by Jean-Noël Rault, Director North America for AFKLMP Cargo, and Rinzing Wangyal, Vice President of Cargo Business Development at WFS. This collaboration marks an important milestone in the aviation industry’s ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly practices.

Jean-Noël Rault praised the WFS Group for their leadership in environmental responsibility, expressing enthusiasm about strengthening their partnership. “We commend the WFS Group for their leadership in environmental responsibility and are excited to enhance our longstanding partnership,” Rault stated. “Together, we are proudly working towards a more eco-friendly future for the logistics and airfreight industry.”

The SAF program represents a critical component of AFKLMP Cargo’s broader sustainability strategy. SAF, an alternative aviation fuel, plays a pivotal role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as it is produced from sustainable sources like waste oils and agricultural residues. By partnering with WFS, AFKLMP Cargo is not only reinforcing its commitment to sustainability but also setting a standard for the logistics and airfreight industry.

This initiative comes at a time when the aviation sector is under increasing pressure to adopt greener practices. The collaboration between AFKLMP Cargo and WFS is a clear indication that both companies are aligned in their vision for a more sustainable future. The use of SAF is expected to have a significant impact on reducing the environmental footprint of air cargo operations, which is crucial as the industry continues to grow.

With WFS now actively participating in the SAF program, AFKLMP Cargo is poised to make substantial progress in its sustainability goals. This partnership underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving environmental targets and highlights the role of innovation in driving the industry forward.
