ALS’s Elevon Takes Care of Wind Blades in Scandinavia

Abnormal Load Services, ALS together with Norsea (part of the Wilhelmsen Group) recently invested in the onshore and offshore renewables sector by launching a new logistics company Elevon whose sole focus is to support the wind industry.

They recently took on their second project in Scandinavia involving unloading wind turbine components from a vessel and transferring them to trailers before arranging onward transportation to a storage facility.

Dimensions of the cargo were: 73.74 metres long, 4.20 metres wide, 3.27 metres high, and 23 tonnes.

For the first project, the weather conditions were freezing. The team lifted all the blades in eight hours before the vessel sailed to Denmark.
