Jumbo Maritime with their client on the Shiploader and Berth Replacement (SABR) Project they have been planning the complete engineering, transport and logistics of this project for almost two years.
As you can see in the photos, this is a sizeable shiploader weighing in at 1850 mt and measuring 76 metres high with the boom up. For the lift in the Port of Henderson, Western Australia, the Jumbo Kinetics’ cranes used special Dyneema slings to make the dual lift as safe and secure as possible.
Once secured onboard, the team sailed the shiploader to Hay Point Coal Terminal in Queensland, Australia for discharge. To ensure clearance with the berth structure the shiploader could only be offloaded on a high tide. Sea state was another consideration and the combination of these factors made for an interesting challenge.
