Breakbulk back to New Orleans

The original JOC breakbulk event in New Orleans, fondly remembered by so many in breakbulk and project cargo industry, has been re-established and will return in 2020 on April 27-29 at the Hilton Riverside at the foot of Canal St.

Hosted by the Port of New Orleans, the event got off to a blistering start in last April with nearly 425 attendees including dozens of shippers.

New Orleans and the historic environs of the French Quarter were for years the setting for the industry to reunite annually to establish and renew relationships and to accelerate business.

“What made this unique event work – and what is making it work again – is its approach of creating a senior-level, intimate networking environment leavened by a substantive program delving deeply into current trends and key challenges. At its core, the JOC is a team of specialized journalists, all experts in their subject matter and dedicated to bringing value to the market, whether in writing or through the programs we develop directly out of our daily journalism and extensive industry relationships” said Peter Tirshwell (vice president at IHC Markit).

Many in the industry know the esteemed breakbulk and project cargo editor, Janet Nodar, who has years of experience covering this market and will chair the program. BBN is looking forward to be part of the next event in New Orleans in April 2020.
