Broekman Logistics Coordinates Seamless Heavy-Lift Shipment from India to Czech Republic

A complex international transport operation has successfully been executed by global logistics provider Broekman Logistics, delivering high-value power industry components from India to the Czech Republic. The cargo included heavy units weighing over 26 tonnes each, requiring careful planning, coordination, and execution at every stage of the supply chain.

The shipment was organized on behalf of a long-standing client, a multinational manufacturer specializing in steam turbines for the global power sector. The challenge wasn’t just the scale and weight of the equipment—it was ensuring a seamless handover across two continents, dealing with varying port protocols, and minimizing downtime through efficient routing and handling.

What made this shipment stand out wasn’t just the heavy-lift nature of the cargo. It was the orchestration between teams thousands of kilometers apart. In India, Suresh S and his colleagues managed the origin logistics, overseeing cargo handling and preparing the heavy units for sea transport. At the receiving end in Europe, Marek Malý, Daniel Mareš, and their Czech-based team coordinated final delivery, customs clearance, and inland transport to the consignee.

This type of operation underscores the increasing need for logistics providers to operate not just as freight movers, but as end-to-end project managers. Communication, timing, and shared responsibility played a key role here. With India’s ports

growing in complexity and European regulatory environments tightening, having local expertise on both ends helped avoid disruptions.

Broekman Logistics has long promoted its capability in managing integrated supply chains across heavy and breakbulk sectors, and this recent project reinforces their operational scope. While not rare in terms of project cargo scale, the successful execution across borders and time zones is noteworthy, especially given the ongoing pressure on global transport networks.
