CEVA Logistics, in collaboration with its parent company CMA CGM, has successfully concluded another significant heavy lift operation. This project involved transporting two massive mercury removal vessels from Italy to Algeria, showcasing the company’s expertise in handling complex logistics for the oil and gas sector.
The two vessels, each weighing over 100 tons, arrived at Skikda Old Port, Algeria, where they were carefully offloaded directly onto trucks. From there, they embarked on a challenging 2,000 km journey across Algeria, traveling from the northeast to the far southwest, destined for a key oil and gas site. The entire transport operation, which lasted 25 days, required precise planning and coordination to ensure the vessels reached their destination safely and on time.
CEVA Logistics’ teams played a pivotal role in executing this project flawlessly. Their expertise, combined with seamless collaboration between the lifting and transport crews, ensured that the operation ran smoothly from start to finish. Heavy lift projects like these demand rigorous attention to detail, and CEVA’s professionals delivered.
The successful completion of this project is another testament to CEVA Logistics’ ability to handle large-scale, complex cargo movements, particularly in industries such as oil and gas where precision is critical. As the logistics landscape continues to evolve, CEVA’s capability to manage such intricate operations is key to maintaining their standing in the global logistics market.
