CEVA Logistics Expands Pharmaceutical Footprint with New Strasbourg Facility

STRASBOURG, FRANCE – April 8, 2025 CEVA Logistics has kicked off construction on a new pharmaceutical logistics facility in the Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport Business Park, setting the stage for a major boost to its healthcare logistics capabilities in Europe. The 17,000-square-meter warehouse is set to open in early 2026 and will cater to both domestic and international healthcare markets.

The new site is purpose-built to manage sensitive pharmaceutical products, with tailored temperature-controlled zones ranging from -25°C to +25°C. This will allow CEVA to handle a wide range of medical supplies—from frozen vaccines to ambient-condition pharmaceuticals—with precision. The building’s high ceiling, standing at over 17 meters, also supports large-volume storage, while dock areas are designed to handle active air containers for high-value, temperature-sensitive cargo.

What makes the location especially strategic is its proximity to key airport infrastructure. Situated directly within the airport business park, the facility is positioned near major cargo carriers, customs services, and security authorities. This setup shortens transit times and adds an extra layer of control over logistics operations—a must-have in the highly regulated pharmaceutical sector.

But this isn’t just about more square meters. CEVA is packing the new warehouse with automation and advanced tracking systems. That means inventory will move more efficiently, securely, and with better traceability. In industries where compliance and time-sensitive delivery are critical, these kinds of operational enhancements make all the difference.

Sustainability is also part of the blueprint. The warehouse is designed to meet BREEAM standards in both “Very Good” and “Biodiversity” categories. Solar panels will be installed on the roof, helping the facility contribute to CEVA’s broader environmental goals. It’s a clear nod to the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, while still scaling operations to meet growing market demand.

In terms of certifications, CEVA isn’t cutting corners. The site will comply with top-tier international standards, including TAPA FSR B, TSR 2, and ISO 13485. These designations are key for ensuring cargo safety, security, and quality—especially for clients operating in the tightly regulated world of healthcare logistics.

This latest project brings CEVA’s footprint in the Alsace region to five logistics centers, three of which are now dedicated to healthcare. With the new Entzheim facility coming online, the company will operate a total of 32,000 m² of healthcare-specific warehouse space in the area. CEVA’s presence in Alsace includes sites in Sausheim, Mulhouse, and another facility in Strasbourg that joined the network following the acquisition of Stef Logistique Santé’s pharmaceutical operations last year.

Fabrice Dalla Muta, Director of Operations for Healthcare in France at CEVA, said, “This new logistics site is another key step in supporting our pharmaceutical clients. The facility’s strategic location and specialized design reflect our long-standing commitment to healthcare logistics. We’re continuing to build on our capabilities to serve the sector better.”

As demand for temperature-controlled, compliant, and scalable logistics services continues to rise in the healthcare industry, CEVA’s new Strasbourg facility positions it well to stay ahead of the curve.
