CEVA Logistics has successfully completed an impressive project shipment, moving a significant piece of pharmaceutical production machinery for one of Central Italy’s top pharmaceutical companies. This complex operation showcased CEVA’s expertise and dedication in handling large-scale logistics.
The shipment’s total weight was a staggering 130,000 CW, with a volume of 653 m³. To manage this, CEVA chartered an Antonov aircraft, known for its ability to handle oversized cargo. In addition, three subsequent commercial flights were arranged to ensure every piece of machinery reached its destination safely and on time.

The journey began at the customer’s headquarters in the U.S., where the machinery was carefully packed and prepared for transport. The cargo then made its way to Malpensa Airport in Italy, one of the country’s busiest hubs. From there, it was a short trip to a CEVA-contracted warehouse located conveniently close to the customer’s facility in Central Italy. This strategic choice of warehouse location allowed CEVA to deliver parts of the machinery with exceptional flexibility and efficiency, a critical factor for the project’s success.
Over the course of two weeks, CEVA’s dedicated teams in both Italy and the U.S. worked tirelessly, ensuring that every aspect of the shipment was meticulously planned and executed. The coordination required for such a project is immense, involving careful timing and seamless communication between teams across different continents.
This project highlights CEVA’s capability to handle complex logistical challenges and deliver tailored solutions for their clients. The use of the Antonov aircraft was particularly noteworthy, emphasizing CEVA’s commitment to leveraging specialized resources to meet the unique demands of their customers.
