CEVA Logistics, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, has announced a transformative new vertical organization designed to optimize its extensive global logistics capabilities. This restructuring aims to streamline access to the company’s diverse range of services, which includes air, ocean, ground, and rail transport, as well as contract logistics, finished vehicle logistics, project logistics, and customs solutions.

This strategic move comes in tandem with CEVA’s recent acquisition of Bolloré Logistics, which was finalized on February 29, 2024. The integration of Bolloré into CEVA’s new product-driven model is expected to enhance service delivery and operational excellence across all geographies. By the end of 2024, CEVA Logistics will unify its brand with Bolloré, continuing under the single name of CEVA Logistics.

Maximizing Performance and Customer Satisfaction

The new vertical organization is poised to significantly improve product development and operational efficiency. By aligning product teams vertically down to the local level, CEVA aims to accelerate the creation and implementation of innovative logistics solutions. This alignment is anticipated to foster a more responsive and cohesive service experience for customers globally.

In a strategic move to leverage best practices and technological advancements, CEVA is also merging its Air and Ocean operations. This integration includes the finalization of CargoWise, a cutting-edge logistics management software, to further streamline operations and enhance service delivery.

Expansion Through Strategic Acquisitions

Since its acquisition by CMA CGM Group in 2019, CEVA Logistics has significantly expanded its capabilities and geographic reach. The company’s aggressive acquisition strategy has bolstered its presence in key markets and sectors. Notably, CEVA has strengthened its network across Africa and enhanced its e-commerce solutions through the acquisition of Ingram Micro’s CLS division. Additionally, the acquisition of GEFCO has expanded its finished vehicle solutions and overland network in Europe.

CEVA’s reach has also extended into Latin America with the acquisition of Cargex, specializing in perishables transport, and into small parcel and last-mile delivery in France through Colis Privé.

CEVA Logistics CEO Mathieu Friedberg expressed pride in the company’s progress, stating, “Our teams have been working toward this moment for many years, and I’m so proud of where we are as a company. CEVA Logistics is moving to a vertical, product-driven organization that will benefit our team and our customers as we compete among the Top 5 of the logistics industry. The vision we put in place for CEVA with the support of the CMA CGM Group is taking its final form. Our ability to innovate and collaborate with our customers to improve their global supply chains through truly end-to-end solutions is unmatched in some market segments.”
