Chapman Freeborn Partners with Optimus Logistics to Streamline Global Aircraft Repositioning

In a move aimed at simplifying one of aviation’s more complex challenges, Chapman Freeborn has entered a strategic partnership with Optimus Logistics Group to cut the time and cost of repositioning aircraft worldwide.

The deal, announced on Monday in London, formalizes a working relationship that began in 2021. It now covers Chapman Freeborn’s global fleet and sets the foundation for a more efficient, integrated system to move aircraft where and when they’re needed—without the logistical headaches usually involved.

The partnership brings together Chapman Freeborn’s five-decade legacy in aircraft chartering and Optimus Logistics’ track record in ferrying aircraft. For operators and clients, that translates into quicker delivery times, reduced administrative burdens, and tighter control over costs.

“From permits to pilots, tracking to touchdown — our combined capabilities offer a superior service that is both dependable and economical,” said David Selby, Commercial Manager – Flight Support at Chapman Freeborn.

The collaboration promises a faster, leaner solution for what’s long been a logistical jigsaw. It’s about less red tape, fewer delays, and more transparency throughout the repositioning process—a pain point for many in the aviation and logistics industries.

Founded in 2011, Optimus Logistics Group started with ground-level trucking before expanding into global aircraft ferry services. Marshall Frantz, the company’s Founder and President, has managed over $50 billion in aviation assets in his two-decade career. His experience now fuels this new alignment.

“By combining our specialist ferry capabilities with Chapman Freeborn’s fifty plus years’ experience and global network of charterers, we’re creating a new standard for aircraft repositioning — more efficient, safer, and more value-driven than ever before,” said Marshall Frantz.

The agreement also coincides with a broader growth phase for Chapman Freeborn. Recent initiatives include a restructured European cargo division, a new general sales and service agent in Eastern Europe, and a dedicated division for music and entertainment logistics across Europe—signals of a company actively recalibrating its global logistics playbook.

The industry will be watching closely to see how this partnership plays out in real-time, particularly in high-demand markets where time really is money.
