Chipolbrok Welcomes Heavy-Lift Vessel De An to Its Fleet

Polish-Chinese shipping line Chipolbrok marked a milestone this week with the naming ceremony of its latest vessel, M/V De An, adding significant muscle to its project cargo capabilities. The event, held just ahead of the company’s 74th anniversary, symbolizes continuity and commitment to the specialized transport of heavy and oversized freight across global routes.

The De An is the seventh vessel in Chipolbrok’s 62,000 DWT series. Built with a lifting capacity of 300 metric tons and a deck space stretching 166 by 30 meters, the vessel is tailored for high-volume, high-weight project shipments. The dimensions alone suggest a clear intent: transporting turbines, industrial modules, and infrastructure components with fewer constraints and greater flexibility.

With its hybrid cargo handling configuration and enhanced lifting gear, the De An will likely serve high-demand trade lanes where lifting capacity and deck space make the difference between delay and delivery. The vessel joins a growing class of modern multipurpose heavy-lift ships, reflecting broader trends in the breakbulk sector—bigger units, fewer transshipments, and optimized routes.

The naming ceremony offered more than a new nameplate. It served as a timely nod to Chipolbrok’s enduring role in the evolution of maritime logistics since its founding in 1951. As industry watchers look ahead to emerging infrastructure projects in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, additions like De An underline the fleet’s readiness to meet complex transport needs.
