CLdN and Transfennica Forge Baltic Connection from Zeebrugge

CLdN and Transfennica have joined forces to enhance shipping services from Zeebrugge, marking a significant expansion in their network connectivity across Northern and Western Europe. This collaboration will see Transfennica’s Northern Baltic service linking Antwerp with key ports including Hanko, Kotka, Rauma in Finland, and Paldiski in Estonia, making scheduled stops at CLdN’s Albert II terminal in Zeebrugge every other Thursday. The inaugural call is scheduled for July 25th.

The partnership aims to facilitate seamless transshipment of various cargo types such as containers, tank containers, trailers, reefers, automotive units, self-drives, breakbulk, and specialized mobile machinery. By sharing freight loading equipment, both companies are poised to maximize operational efficiency and offer enhanced service reliability to their customers.

Gary Walker, Chief Operating Officer of CLdN RoRo, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to broaden service capabilities across Europe. He emphasized the environmental benefits of this maritime route, noting a reduced administrative burden and significantly lower CO2 footprint compared to long-distance road transport.

Dirk Witteveen, Managing Director of Transfennica Ltd, echoed Walker’s sentiments, emphasizing the strategic advantage of expanding their network to include CLdN’s ports in the UK, Ireland, and Iberia. This expansion is poised to provide optimal solutions for customers within the European short sea shipping sector, leveraging both companies’ customer-centric approaches.

The alliance between CLdN and Transfennica underscores their commitment to innovation and customer service excellence in the maritime logistics industry. By enhancing connectivity between Northern and Western Europe, including regions like Scandinavia and the Northern Baltics, the partnership aims to meet the growing demand for efficient and sustainable shipping solutions.
