Combi Lift has successfully completed a challenging logistics project for a prestigious global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company in Algeria. The project, executed by teams from Combi Lift India and Combi Lift Bremen, with critical support from SAL Engineering, highlights the company’s expanding role in the heavy lift and project cargo sectors.
The scope of the operation involved transporting key industrial components, including heat exchangers from India and Debutanisers and De-Ethanisers from Oman, over difficult terrain. In total, 17 packages were shipped from Mumbai to Arzew, Algeria, with the combined cargo weighing 617.722 metric tons and measuring 1012.247 cubic meters. The heaviest package tipped the scales at 216 metric tons, while the longest package stretched 25.7 meters.
Combi Lift also handled 16 packages from Oman, which had a total volume of 3646.64 cubic meters. The largest piece in this shipment weighed 196.280 metric tons and spanned an impressive 43.85 meters in length.
However, the journey wasn’t without its obstacles. In Oman, heavy rainfall had caused significant damage to transportation routes, requiring extensive civil works to clear the way for the oversized cargo. Furthermore, insurance constraints necessitated a detour around the Red Sea, forcing the team to navigate the Cape of Good Hope, a notorious route for severe weather conditions. Despite these hurdles, Combi Lift’s precise heavy-lift operations ensured that the cargo arrived safely in Algeria.
The successful completion of this project underscores Combi Lift’s growing reputation as a key player in the global project logistics market. Since its launch in India in 2023, Combi Lift has rapidly positioned itself among the top integrated project logistics providers, earning trust from heavy lift manufacturers and EPC companies alike. The company’s expertise in handling complex logistics challenges has led to a burgeoning list of high-profile clients.
As Combi Lift continues to execute high-stakes projects like this, it’s clear that their capabilities in managing large-scale, specialized logistics are being increasingly recognized on the international stage.
