Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers announced that the company has ordered five firm plus four options for 62,000dwt multipurpose vessels at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian). 
The newbuilds are priced at USD33.5 million per vessel. The newbuild orders come after Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers have won several pulp transport COA contracts over the last two years. The newbuilds will further support the company’s expansion into the pulp and breakbulk transport market.
In 2017, the company ordered two plus one option pulp vessels at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian), which are due for delivery starting from 2019.
Pulp trading volume will keep increasing in the coming years, the long-term COA contract of pulp transport could provide stable benefits to the company, Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers stated.
