Davies Turner climbs to 7th in UK logistics ranking after awards wins

Davies Turner has risen 13 places to seventh in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s 2026 ranking of UK logistics service providers, adding to a series of industry awards that includes the Multimodal 3PL Company of the Year title and a sixth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award.

The freight forwarding and logistics group ranked 20th in the CILT list in 2025 and 29th in 2023. Its latest position puts it immediately behind DHL Supply Chain and ahead of FedEx Express UK Transportation in the 2026 table.

The CILT ranking assesses logistics companies using publicly available information, including financial performance, professional accreditation, gender pay reporting, modern slavery statements and environmental, social and governance practices.

Company director Alan Williams said the rise reflected investment across Davies Turner’s technology, distribution centres, services and workforce.

“Climbing the table once again is a clear reflection of the strategic investments we’ve made in our IT systems, distribution centres, services and, most importantly, our people,” Williams said.

The ranking places Davies Turner among some of the largest international logistics operators active in Britain. InPost took first place in the 2026 CILT table, followed by Unipart Logistics, GXO Logistics UK, CEVA Logistics and XPO Transport Solutions UK.

For an independent operator competing with global logistics groups, moving from 29th to seventh in three years provides a measurable indication of its changing position in the UK market.

The CILT result follows Davies Turner being named 3PL Company of the Year at the 2026 Multimodal Awards.

The company competed for the category against operators including CEVA Logistics, DHL Global Forwarding, Kuehne+Nagel, Maersk Logistics & Services and Yusen Logistics.

Unlike independently judged categories at the event, Multimodal’s Modal Awards are decided through votes from its newsletter readership, previous attendees and exhibitors.

Williams said the award demonstrated the development of Davies Turner Logistics since it was established as a standalone trading company within the wider Davies Turner Group three years ago.

The recognition comes as the company continues investing in its UK fulfilment and distribution operations while maintaining international freight forwarding activities across air, ocean, road and rail transport.

Davies Turner also received its sixth consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, adding a workplace safety measure to its commercial and industry recognition.

RoSPA Gold status is awarded to organisations demonstrating developed occupational health and safety management systems, risk controls and consistently strong safety performance.

Carl Inman, Davies Turner Group’s health, safety, insurance and environmental manager, said receiving the award for a sixth consecutive year showed that safety practices had become embedded in daily operations.

“The RoSPA Gold Award is one of the most respected benchmarks in our industry,” Inman said. “Achieving Gold for the sixth consecutive year demonstrates that health and safety is not simply a priority but is embedded in our culture and in the way we operate every day.”
