DEME’s heavy lift vessels spotted in Rotterdam

Two renowned heavy lift champions were spotted at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, as DEME’s offshore installation vessel M.V. Sea Installer underwent preparations for the next generation of wind turbines. To facilitate this upgrade, a major crane overhaul was undertaken, resulting in the installation of a new crane with an impressive 1,600-tonne lifting capacity, manufactured by the reputable Huisman company. The heavy lift vessel M.V. Gulliver carefully hoisted the enormous crane onto the M.V. Sea Installer, marking a significant milestone in DEME’s history. This vessel will be one of the first in DEME’s fleet to work in the US market, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding its operations on a global scale.
