DOF Group has announced the extension of its current contract with Petrobras for the pipelay support vessel (PLSV) Skandi Açu. The existing contract, initially set to expire in mid-2026, has now been extended to include a new three-year agreement, pushing the vessel’s service with Petrobras until mid-2029.
This contract extension is a clear indication of the strong and enduring relationship between DOF Group and Petrobras. The Skandi Açu has been a vital asset in Petrobras’ operations, and this long-term commitment underscores the trust and reliability that Petrobras places in DOF’s capabilities.
Adding to the momentum, DOF also confirmed that another of its vessels, Skandi Buzios, resumed its contract with Petrobras on August 1, 2024. Both the Skandi Açu and Skandi Buzios are owned by Techdof AS, a joint venture between DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC, each holding a 50% stake. This partnership has proven to be fruitful, contributing to the group’s robust backlog and continued success in the competitive offshore market.

Aase, CEO of DOF Group ASA, expressed his satisfaction with the latest developments, stating, “We are pleased to announce another award under this PLSV tender, adding important backlog to the Group, and it confirms our long relationship with Petrobras.” His comments reflect the strategic importance of these contracts, not just in terms of financial impact but also in solidifying DOF’s position as a trusted partner in the global offshore sector.
