DSV – Global Transport and Logistics, one of the leading logistics providers in the world, has just unveiled its largest and most ambitious project to date: a 300,000-square-meter integrated logistics centre located outside Horsens, Denmark. This state-of-the-art facility, which took less than two years to construct, marks a significant milestone for the company as it seeks to strengthen its capabilities in providing seamless transport and logistics services across Northern and Central Europe.
On September 10, 2022, DSV broke ground on what was then an empty plot of land. Fast forward to this week, and that same plot has transformed into a cutting-edge logistics hub, equipped to handle a diverse range of products with various temperature requirements and serving multiple industry verticals. Hundreds of local DSV colleagues, along with key members of the company’s executive management team, gathered once again – but this time to celebrate the opening of a facility that is expected to revolutionize DSV’s operations in the region.

What sets this logistics centre apart is its commitment to sustainability. The building has been designed to meet high environmental standards, incorporating the world’s largest roof-based photovoltaic system. This solar panel array delivers 35 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 6,200 Danish households annually. It also ensures that the facility itself is entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy needs, providing power not only for its day-to-day operations but also for 140 electric vehicle charging stations installed on-site. The sustainability efforts reflect DSV’s broader commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting greener logistics solutions.
The opening of this facility comes at a time when global supply chains are under immense pressure, and the need for efficient, reliable logistics solutions has never been greater. By leveraging advanced technology and innovative solutions, DSV aims to enhance its service offering and help its customers navigate the complexities of modern supply chains. The centre is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring that goods continue to flow smoothly between Northern and Central Europe, reinforcing DSV’s position as a key player in the global logistics landscape.
