deugro Transports Oversized Cargo in Kuantan Port

Recently, one of the biggest oversized cargoes ever handled in Kuantan Port was manoeuvered to the quayside.

This 93-metre long column weighs approximately 778.1 tonnes and took almost 11 hours to travel a 6km journey from the KNM fabrication workshop in Gebeng to Kuantan Port, Malaysia.

The project involved deugro as cargo owner who used Worldwide as their agents and the Kuantan Port team (HSE, Port Police, Operation, Civil Engineering) to complete this mission. The cargo will be loaded onto a Roll Group vessel.

“Due to the broader and longer size cargo, many challenges were encountered by the ground team this time around. Moving the oversized cargo into the Kuantan Port operation area was such an intricate process this time as we had to cut down several trees and take out a few lamps pole to make way for the cargo. Fret not! The ‘fallen trees’ will be replanted after all shipments completed.”

“Stay tuned for the cargo loading story soon. This time around, the method is going to be different and once in a blue moon in Kuantan Port.”
