United Wind Logistic’s vessel Vestvind arrived at the port of Saint-Nazaire at the weekend to deliver the first blades for the Saint-Nazaire park wind turbines.
According to EDF Renewables, Vestvind arrived from Spain on Saturday carrying a full vessel of wind turbine blades destined for the future offshore wind farm of Saint-Nazaire (480 MW). The park’s 80 offshore wind turbines are scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.
“This is one more piece of the gigantic industrial puzzle that is being put in place as the first foundation was positioned at sea at the beginning of May”
This is the first in a long series of shipments as these blades will equip the 80 Haliade wind turbines soon to be installed offshore on the Guérande bank.
