Fracht carried out a rather challenging transport of a transformer to the Harting Rig substation in South Lanarkshire in southern Scotland.
The transformer weighed 80 tons and some additional accessories were transported. They are for a production plant in Poland. Due to the difficult-to-access location. The problem that needed to be solved was the crossing of the Glassford Bridge on the last section of the route in Scotland, which was downgraded by the local road administration.
Since it was impossible to drive the entire road train over the bridge due to the total weight, after checking several configuration options, the method of dragging the semi-trailer with the transformer alone over the bridge was chosen. The last stage of the transformer delivery to the substation was carried out by 2 ballast tractors.
