GE AND VOLGA-DNEPR SIGN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Russian air cargo firm Volga-Dnepr Group and U.S. industrial conglomerate GE have announced a global strategic partnership to strengthen existing joint logistics services.

The agreement will see GE provide maintenance, repair and overhaul of 88 additional GEnx-2B engines that power Volga-Dnepr’s Boeing 747-8 Freighters. The deal is an extension of Volga-Dnepr’s existing TrueChoice Flight Hour service, valued at US$1.4 billion.

Volga-Dnepr will provide transportation support for GE Aviation via its fleet of Boeing 747-8F and An-124 freighters.

‘We perceive GE Aviation not just as a leading vendor of jet and turboprop engines and components. They stand out as a reliable partner of our group of companies, and our partnership has been strengthened over many years through our successful Antonov 124 charter operations and Boeing 747 scheduled services for GE companies,” said Alexey Isaykin, president of Volga-Dnepr Group.
