Gebrüder Weiss is expanding its footprint in South-East Asia, opening a new country organization in Thailand on June 1, 2025. This move bolsters its existing network in one of the world’s most vibrant economic hubs, further linking its services across the Asia-Pacific region.
With a team of 20 experienced logistics professionals based in Bangkok, the company will provide international air and sea freight transportation, customs handling, and cross-border land transport solutions. Cristian Predan, Director South-East Asia at Gebrüder Weiss, noted that the team is ready to deliver robust support for businesses in Thailand and across the region.
“Thailand is an important export location with strong trade links to the USA, China, Japan, Australia, and Singapore – markets where we are also represented with locations of our own,” said Lothar Thoma, Managing Director Air & Sea at Gebrüder Weiss.
Thailand’s 2024 export volumes totaled around $300 billion, a 5 percent increase from the previous year. Industrial goods accounted for 86 percent of those exports, with electronics, vehicles, machinery, and food leading the way.
Gebrüder Weiss aims to further develop its services in Thailand, with plans to introduce warehouse logistics focusing on the automotive and high-tech sectors. This expansion reflects the company’s strategic approach to filling market gaps and strengthening trade routes between Thailand and other major economies.
With the new Bangkok office, Gebrüder Weiss now has an active presence in nine countries across East and South-East Asia and Oceania, including Australia, Greater China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The company’s regional footprint now spans 35 locations and employs around 800 people, reinforcing its commitment to offering comprehensive logistics services in key markets.
