Petrofac Loads Jacket & Piles for Seagreen

The delivery of what will be Seagreen, Scotland’s largest, and the world’s deepest, offshore wind farm has taken another step forward.

Petrofac’s operations to safely load out the High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) offshore substation platform jacket and piles were successfully completed this week.

The jacket and piles were rolled on board the Dongbang Giant. Roll Group, Petrofac and Eversendai are collaborating together on this project.

The superstructure has now left the UAE, ahead of its installation in the deep waters of the North Sea. Located 27km off the coast of Angus, once commissioned Seagreen will provide around 1.6 million homes with low carbon energy.

Petrofac are designing, supplying and installing HVAC onshore and offshore substations for the development owned by SSE Renewables (49%) and TotalEnergies (51%).
