Offshore wind farm developments in the US are gaining momentum with the recent completion of Jumbo’s heavy lift vessel M.V. Fairpartner’s third consecutive voyage. In mid-December, the vessel and crew loaded the first monopile sections in Rostock and sailed through the Kiel Canal to save time and fuel on their journey to the USA.
As the project approaches its fourth voyage, it is evident that the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance has a complete project logistics capability. The scope of the project involves the transportation of 150 monopile segments from Rostock, Germany to the USA. The M.V. Fairpartner will transport 9 monopile sections, including 3 full MPs, on each trip, with the heaviest section weighing 742 tonnes. The vessel will make 7 consecutive voyages and use #Biofuel when sailing through Emission Controlled Areas.
To meet the project’s scale and schedule requirements, the team has chartered Roll Group’s Big Roll Beaufort to perform 6 consecutive voyages, with 15 monopile sections transported on each trip, including 5 full MPs.
