KENC Secures Multiple Contracts for UK Offshore Wind Farm Projects

KENC Engineering, based in Oldenzaal, the Netherlands, has secured several notable contracts from a leading transport and installation (T&I) contractor for a major offshore wind farm project in the United Kingdom. The engineering firm’s role involves delivering tailored solutions to outfit a specialized jack-up vessel, which will be critical for the safe and efficient installation of monopiles.

The scope of work entrusted to KENC encompasses the design and engineering of key equipment, including a hose reel platform equipped to house a hydraulic power unit (HPU), a hose saddle, a control cabin work frame, and a gangway platform. Each component is designed to meet the stringent requirements of a challenging offshore environment while adhering to the vessel’s deck constraints.

Developing these bespoke solutions has required a delicate balance of innovation and practicality. The engineering team at KENC collaborated closely with their finite element analysis specialists to ensure that the structures are not only lightweight but also robust and stable. This effort underscores KENC’s commitment to delivering safe and efficient solutions tailored to the demands of offshore wind installation.

Eric Buining, Managing Director of KENC Engineering, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We’re proud to work with the contractor on these scopes. This collaboration allows us to leverage our experience of vessel outfitting and mobilization support for offshore wind installation projects.”

Engineering work for these projects is already in full swing, with completion aligned to support the upcoming offshore wind farm operations. The partnership reinforces KENC’s growing reputation as a trusted player in the renewable energy and offshore logistics sectors, particularly as global energy markets continue to prioritize clean energy initiatives.
