Konecranes Düsseldorf Joins Forces with City in Climate Action Pact

Konecranes site in Düsseldorf/Germany has signed the so called “Düsseldorf climate pact”, a partnership between the City and companies in the area to support the goal of the city to be climate neutral in 2035.

This fits perfectly into the strong sustainability focus of Konecranes and its own ambition to reduce its emissions by 50% until 2030.

The local team in Düsseldorf has already been very active in increasing for example the energy efficiency of its operations. For example, the conversion of the lamps in the factory and the surrounding ground to LED and the switch to more efficient welding machines alone has achieved an increase in energy efficiency that corresponds to the average annual electricity consumption of 241 4-person households in a single-family home.

Another example of climate action at Konecranes, as all the other manufacturing sites at Konecranes globally, Düsseldorf operates on 100% green electricity.
