Kuehne + Nagel Ship Wind Blades to Vietnam

Recently, Kuehne + Nagel’s Asian project logistics team shipped 39 wind blades from China to Vietnam for a leading wind turbine manufacturer.

Each of the wind blades weighs 17.4 tonnes and measures 76 m long.

Besides the huge dimensions of the cargo, the tight schedule added further complexity to the project, which was to be carried out in a market where multipurpose vessels are in limited supply.

“Nevertheless, our chartering management expert team in Singapore found a suitable free vessel capable of moving the enormous cargo. In addition, our in-house engineering team ensured the technical feasibility – from calculations to an optimised stowage plan to accommodate the maximum amount of blades on the ship’s deck. The result: The customer’s equipment arrived safely and on time at its final destination in Vietnam!”
