LASO transports tanks from Aveiro to León on specialized shuttle

LASO Transportes S.A. has completed the cross border transport of industrial tanks from Aveiro, Portugal, to León, Spain, using a specialized shuttle configuration selected to meet the dimensions and handling requirements of the cargo.

The operation adds to the Portuguese transport company’s project logistics activity across the Iberian Peninsula, where oversized cargo movements frequently require equipment to be matched closely to cargo dimensions and road conditions.

LASO said the tanks were transported using a shuttle with a chico configuration. The equipment was selected according to the characteristics of the tanks and the operational requirements of the journey.

The company did not disclose the dimensions or weights of the tanks, the number of units transported, or details of the final delivery location in León.

Moving large tanks by road can require careful consideration of overall transport height, width and length. Trailer configuration is therefore an important part of planning such movements, particularly on international routes where operators must account for infrastructure constraints and different road transport requirements.

The transport connected Aveiro on Portugal’s Atlantic coast with León in northwestern Spain, making the operation an international specialized road movement between the two neighboring countries.

LASO regularly handles abnormal and project cargo using different trailer and modular transport configurations. For this shipment, the company said the chosen solution was suited specifically to the cargo and the requirements of the operation.
