LEMAN expands and opens in Iceland

LEMAN Iceland will be providing ocean and air transportation, connecting Iceland to the global LEMAN network.

Karl Óðinn Guðmundsson will head the operation as Managing Director, LEMAN Iceland, and Karl brings with him 18 years of experience within the industry. Among other things he worked for Icelandair Cargo as Manager Stations at their headquarters in Reykjavík and as Cargo Manager the Americas, located at JFK Airport, New York. He therefore has a deep understanding of both the international freight industry and the local Icelandic market.

“We are all incredibly excited to join the LEMAN Group and introduce the company to the Icelandic market. The LEMAN name is a trusted and reliable brand so we are confident that with the support of the LEMAN network around the world we will be well received in the local market. We are excited about this opportunity and have great ambitions to provide reliable and efficient transport solutions to all our customers,” Karl Guðmundsson states.

LEMAN Denmark has a long history of serving customers in Iceland and the North Atlantic region and CEO LEMAN Denmark Jesper Autzen is looking forward to the opportunities that the new office brings:

“As a freight forwarder in the Nordic market, it is important to us that we have our own LEMAN presence in Iceland. We have seen year on year growth in volume to Iceland and therefore the opening of our new office is a logical next step in our North Atlantic expansion. LEMAN Denmark has an experienced and dedicated team working with the North Atlantic and we are very excited that we can now offer a fully-fledged service to all our customers shipping to and from Iceland.”
