Lifting the roof of Mordovia Arena

ALE has performed the lifting and installation of 1,300 roof sections of the Mordovia Arena stadium located in Saransk, Russia.

Each section had different dimensions and weighed 80t each. ALE used its 750t capacity crawler crane with a 45m luffing jib in the largest configuration possible to lift and install the roof sections.blank

As there was limited space inside the stadium, with just enough space to pass through the gates, ALE stretched the main boom to 118m.

It took nine months to lift and install the roof sections to meet the set deadlines of the building the stadium’s building schedule so it is ready for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
