Mammoet Expands Saudi Fleet With 60 Axle Lines and 8 Cranes to Meet Surging Project Demand

Saudi Arabia’s industrial expansion is placing unprecedented pressure on heavy lifting and transport providers, prompting Mammoet to significantly expand its local fleet with new cranes, transport equipment and specialized lifting assets. The investment is designed to increase in country capacity as customers push ahead with multiple industrial, energy and infrastructure projects at the same time.

The latest investment includes seven Mercedes-Benz trucks, 60 Goldhofer conventional axle lines, Azobé crane mats, and a broader fleet of all terrain and crawler cranes. The crane additions comprise three 160 tonne all terrain cranes, one 250 tonne all terrain crane, one 500 tonne all terrain crane, two 250 tonne crawler cranes and one 400 tonne crawler crane.

All equipment will be based at the company’s operational hub in Al Jubail, allowing faster deployment across the Kingdom while reducing dependence on equipment mobilized from outside Saudi Arabia.

The expanded fleet is expected to improve flexibility across heavy lifting operations, heavy transport assignments, plant shutdowns and maintenance campaigns where careful planning and precise execution are essential to minimizing operational downtime.

The additional assets also provide greater scheduling certainty for customers managing overlapping project timelines, particularly during turnaround periods when delays can have significant operational and financial consequences.

According to Abdul Rouf, General Manager of Mammoet KSA, the investment reflects the increasing demand for specialized lifting services across the Kingdom.

He said Saudi Arabia continues to see a growing number of major industrial projects being executed simultaneously. Increasing the availability of specialized equipment within the country allows the company to respond more quickly to customer requirements, support several projects at the same time and deliver the engineering expertise needed for increasingly complex operations. He added that Mammoet is also continuing to expand its local workforce to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

The investment forms part of Mammoet’s long term strategy to strengthen its presence in Saudi Arabia by building greater local capability. Expanding the domestic fleet reduces reliance on imported equipment while providing customers with increased operational flexibility and improved project planning confidence.
