Mammoet mobile crane was in action at BWXT Nuclear Energy in Peterborough

Mammoet LTM1070 mobile crane was in action at BWXT Nuclear Energy in Peterborough, Ontario as continue to assist their client with lifting, rigging, and equipment support for the Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) Target Delivery System. To fit within tight space requirements, Mammoet utilized its modular lifting frame to provide vertical lifting with the lowest possible headroom.

Mammoet will be back to support moving the system to Darlington Nuclear Generating Station for installation in Unit 2 later this year.

Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99) is the parent isotope of technetium-99m (Tc-99m), an important medical isotope used globally in over 30 million medical procedures like detecting cancer and heart disease.
