It can be challenging to carry out large scale maintenance and engineering work inside a nuclear reactor building. Because Mammoet specializes in the safe movement of the world’s largest and heaviest objects, the team was able to replace a steam generator efficiently.
For this reason, the company was asked by Framatome five years ago to help remove and replace four steam generators at its nuclear power plants in France. The first project, at Flamanville FA1, was successfully completed, proving the efficiency of the equipment and procedures developed for this work.
