Marguisa Shipping Expands in Latin America

Marguisa, the shipping company of the Sea & Ports Maritime Group, is expanding its business to Latin America with the announcement of the agreement with Wasa Project & Chartering, a Brazilian company with experience and specialized services in different areas.

Marguisa Shipping Lines, has appointed Wasa Projects & Chartering as its general agent in Brazil as of January 2021. This is part of the ongoing expansion plans with full container services followed by the existing express and exclusive Ro-Ro services to West Africa.


The Spanish line offers regular services covering trades between the Mediterranean Sea, North Continent, South America, Asia, Middle East and East Med to the main destinations of West Africa ports in Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tomé & Principe, Douala, Cotonou, Lomé among other ports in the region and now they are ready to expand even further.

“We are already present in Brazil through our first-class Ro-Ro service to West Africa and with SOC (our own containers) via Feeder services with transshipment in Tanger and Algeciras to the above-named African ports”, said Andrés Cadenas, Head of Sales and Marketing at Marguisa.

Tanger and Algeciras, will be the connecting ports for the Brazilian export cargoes, confirms Gilberto Lima, the Managing Director of Wasa Projects. He also confirms: “We are looking forward to introducing to our Brazilian customers the benefit and value added that Marguisa will contribute to their business and future projects, by delivering expectations with excellence in services. The Brazilian market is undoubtedly one of the most important trade of the world and we cannot afford to keep this huge market out of our global services”.
