More Machines Moved to Egypt by RORO Vessel

PFN Malaysia and MSGFS recently moved heavy machine equipment and accessories from Port Klang, Malaysia to Alexandria via RoRo vessel.

The cargo was urgently required by the consignee, so MS Global Freight Solution (MSGFS), Malaysia looked for space on the next immediate vessel, but the initial request was rejected due to space constraints.

MSGFS finally received a booking confirmation just two days before the vessel’s arrival. They rushed to arrange inland transportation, customs clearance and port application within a very limited time.

In total 15 pieces were moved, weighing 157 tonnes and taking up 245cbm. Largest item – main unit 8.50 x 3.70 x 3.60 metres 68.300 tonnes. Longest item – kelly bar 17.60 x 0.83 x 0.83 metres 15.000 tonnes.

“There were several changes with cargo details until MSGFS found the actual dimensions were much larger than the packing list indicated. They had to adjust the stowage plan inside the port considering space and weight balance and managed to squeeze static items on 2 x mafi-trailers as initially planned. Coordinating within an extremely tight schedule was very challenging especially during the lockdown and the Ramadan period, as cargo could be rejected with a single hiccup but MSGFS managed smoothly and all the items sailed as booked. “
