A Week of New Ships!

This week saw a number of newbuild ships being added to the breakbulk, project carrier and heavylift fleet.

Wagenborg’s EasyMax 2 vessel was launched on Thursday at the Royal Niestern Sander shipyard. This new building is the successor of the award-winning egbert wagenborg.

EasyMax 2 has a cargo capacity of more than 14.000 tonnes and a hold capacity of 625.000 cbft. With an installed power of less than 3.000 kW, this ship has extremely low fuel consumption. According to Wagenborg, their focus on Energy Efficiency resulted in over 60% savings in CO2- emissions compared to her peer group. “We are proud the EasyMax is by far the greenest multipurpose vessel in her class.”

Also this week, the newbuild MV BraveWind was delivered to United Wind Logistics. MV BraveWind is the sister vessel to German flagged MV BoldWind and was handed over to UWL’s German Master on 23 October 2020.

The Captain has been already with the vessel during her sea trial phase and has endured all covid-related hardship to take BraveWind to Europe and into her long-term charter in the offshore wind industry.

On her maiden voyage she will carry barges from Nantong to Rotterdam. With a deadweight of 10.000 tonness, a deck length of 128 m and width of 28 m, the modern deck carrier offers great flexibility and attractive intake for any huge or heavy cargo.

The modern vessel combines an optimized hull design and diesel-electric propulsion to suit its dedicated service field. The electric package is supplied by ABB and powered by four MAN diesel generators driven by high-quality MDO. Additionally, the MAN meets IMO Tier III emission regulations being equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system. The vessel is equipped with two bow thrusters and a stern thruster and in all respects DP ready.

The Manisa fleet is also growing. This week they welcomed MV Manisa Anna to their fleet. According to Manisa Bulk, this is the first of many.
