As Commercial Agent for Pan Ocean in agreed European countries, SAL employed their semi-submersible MV Sun Rise to carry a 1,630 tonne pre-piling template (PPT) from the Netherlands to Singapore.
The template was the main piece of cargo, measuring 47 x 47 x 26 m, which was successfully loaded in Vlissingen, Netherlands. Loading operations took place on RoRo basis from quay to ship, using SPMT-trailers at the Heerema Vlissingen yard.
Afterwards, the MV Sun Rise sailed to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to load additional offshore handling equipment. Loading operations were carried out by Heerema’s second-largest deepwater construction vessel (DCV), Thialf.
MV Sun Rise will now sail to Singapore and later be part of a jacket installation campaign for the Ørsted’s Greater Changhua 1 & 2a Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.
