Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renovables shipped the final batch of 45 monopiles for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm directly to the UK project site, completing a production campaign that wrapped up in December 2025.

The deliveries mark a key supply chain milestone for the 1.4 GW project, located 69 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk. The monopiles were manufactured at the joint Navantia Windar factory at the Navantia Seanergies shipyard in Fene, A Coruña, Spain. A second supplier, Haizea Wind Group, is providing additional monopiles for the 95 turbine array, with Windar also delivering transition pieces.

Turbine installation advances

Foundation work began in April 2025 when Seaway7’s vessel Seaway Ventus installed the first monopile. On April 21, 2026, Cadeler’s jack up vessel Wind Osprey set a UK record by installing the first Siemens Gamesa 14+ MW turbine, featuring 115 metre blades.

Two Cadeler vessels, Wind Osprey and Wind Pace, are carrying out turbine installation, which is expected to conclude in the third or fourth quarter of 2026.

Ownership and output targets

The project is jointly owned by ScottishPower Renewables, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, and Abu Dhabi based Masdar. Once fully operational in late 2026, the wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 1.3 million British homes, according to the developers.

Supply chain signals for offshore wind

The completion of monopile manufacturing at Fene frees production capacity at the Spanish yard for future contracts, a development watched closely by European offshore wind developers facing tight foundation supply timelines. No further monopile shipments to East Anglia Three are expected.

Turbine commissioning progress over the coming months will determine whether the project meets its late 2026 operational target.
