Hansa Meyer Global Transport Germany has been awarded the logistics contract for an MDF plant with an annual production capacity of 205,000 m³ in Alexandria, Egypt.
The scope of work for Hansa Meyer includes transporting breakbulk cargoes of units up to 40 tonnes plus several hundred TEU in several lots from the Port of Bremen to the Port of Alexandria.
The new MDF plant in Alexandria is considered to be a key contributor to supporting the governmental efforts to realize an environmentally friendly, CO2-reducing, and sustainable use of rice straw in Eygpt.
Operations have already started and the project is scheduled to be completed in April 2021.
