OceanOpt, a leader in emissions management solutions for the maritime sector, has announced a strategic partnership with Veracity by DNV, the maritime emissions cloud platform from the independent assurance and risk management provider, DNV. This collaboration is set to tackle the complexities of the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for shipping companies, bringing a new level of clarity and confidence to emissions management.
By merging OceanOpt’s strengths in emissions data management and compliance with DNV’s expertise in data verification, this partnership promises to simplify the navigation of the EU ETS. Through a seamless, API-driven data flow, vessel emissions verified by DNV’s Emissions Connect can be easily integrated into OceanOpt’s EU ETS portal. This allows for smoother allocation and reconciliation of EU Allowances (EUAs), making the process less cumbersome for shipping companies.
Anil Jacob, Managing Director of OceanOpt, highlighted the importance of this partnership in navigating the complex regulatory landscape. “Connecting OceanOpt to the Veracity cloud also integrates us with DNV’s Emissions Connect, allowing our customers to generate voyage statements for EU ETS. This ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and various Charter party clauses. Our streamlined approach not only relieves customers of data management burdens but also empowers them to focus on strategic growth. Our data management services offer actionable insights, helping clients reduce carbon tax costs while remaining compliant,” Jacob stated.
As a part of the Schulte Group, OceanOpt provides an extensive range of services, including independent consultancy, data management, and platform-based solutions tailored for ship managers, owners, and charterers. This new partnership with Veracity by DNV underscores the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional value and fostering sustainable practices.
Helge Bartels, COO of Bernhard Schulte, praised the new partnership, saying, “OceanOpt delivers a customized service package for the Bernhard Schulte fleet, covering all IMO DCS and EU MRV reporting requirements. With their partnership with Veracity, we gain seamless access to verified emissions data from DNV within the OceanOpt solution. This provides a trusted baseline for our emissions management, aiming to reduce fuel consumption, enhance CII ratings, and maintain transparency with stakeholders.”
Mikkel Skou, Executive Director at Veracity by DNV, echoed these sentiments, stating, “We are excited to welcome OceanOpt to Veracity by DNV’s network of integrated solution partners. Their commitment to delivering quality data management for the Bernhard Schulte fleet is impressive, and we look forward to collaborating to help our customers maximize the use of verified emissions data.”
The partnership between OceanOpt and Veracity by DNV represents a significant leap forward in emissions management, providing shipping companies with the tools they need to achieve greater operational efficiency, reduce emissions, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
