Peter Rondhuis to become Roll Group CEO

Roll Group has just announced that Peter Rondhuis will take up the position as Group CEO with effect from 01 January 2021. Further management changes also announced.

Peter Rondhuis succeeds Adriaan Aarts who is appointed to the supervisory board of Roll Group. Together with Martine Kok (CFO), Peter will form the board of Roll Group.

Paul Könst (COO) will leave the organisation as part of the restructuring of the group. According to Roll Group, the board thanks Paul for his good contribution over the years and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.

Peter Rondhuis joined Roll Group as Group CCO in 2019. Since 2000, Peter worked within the shipping industry and held several management positions within international companies of which a long period as Managing Director within a subsidiary of AP Moller Maersk. Martine Kok joined Roll Group this year and held CFO positions and general management roles of international companies such as TNT.

Adriaan Aarts: “After some years with headwinds and consequently restructuring the company, it is the right moment to hand over the helm and set a step back as we have taken the last necessary improvements. The supervisory board and shareholders are confident that the new management will bring the group to the next level”

Despite the challenging conditions, Roll Group expanded with an additional deck carrier “the Bigroll Biscay” successfully, last year. Additionally, Roll Group has expanded its land activities and equipment in the Asia-Pacific region with offices in Singapore, Malaysia, South-Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and China.

Peter Rondhuis comments: “Somewhat later than expected, we see that the market improves and that our order book is filling up rapidly for the years to come. Especially, mid-2021 onwards looks very promising! Within the last months, Roll Group has secured two “factory to foundation” orders whereby we take care of the sea and land transportation with our own vessels and land equipment. This concept takes out several shackles in the chain and will generate a more cost-efficient and flexible execution for our clients. We are glad that our clients recognize us for this service in combination with our world-class assets and engineering. Together with our partners, our dedicated experienced staff and committed crew, we expect to growth our land activities in the Americas, Africa and Middle East region and expand our fleet of vessels at the same time.”
