Roll Group Executes Major Lifts with Innovative Gantry Crane System in Cilegon

Cilegon, Indonesia – July 25, 2024 – Roll Group has achieved a significant milestone with the successful execution of two major lifts, each surpassing 1,000 tonnes, at a petrochemical facility in Cilegon, Indonesia. This impressive feat was accomplished using Roll Group’s state-of-the-art RMG Modular Gantry Crane system. Known for its versatility and innovative design, the Heavy Gantry Crane system represents a substantial advancement in Roll Group’s ability to manage extremely heavy loads and complex logistics projects.

Roll Group’s involvement in this project goes beyond the lifting operations. The company was contracted for a comprehensive scope that included the use of Self-Propelled Modular Trailers (SPMTs), various cranes, and their newly developed Heavy Gantry Crane system. This holistic approach showcases Roll Group’s commitment to providing complete, end-to-end solutions that are precisely tailored to meet the unique needs of their clients.

What sets the RMG Modular Gantry Crane system apart is its remarkable capacity and efficiency. Capable of lifting loads up to 3,000 tonnes and reaching heights over 120 meters, this system operates without the need for guy wires, significantly reducing disruptions to the surrounding areas. This feature not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures minimal environmental impact, a key consideration in modern industrial projects.

Roll Group’s role in the Cilegon project encompasses a total transport solution. Their responsibilities include discharging cargo from incoming vessels, transporting all cargo within the facility, and precisely lifting the cargo into position. This comprehensive approach includes meticulous engineering, robust project management, and the utilization of SPMTs and five crawler cranes, ensuring a seamless and efficient execution of the project.

The successful lifts in Indonesia mark a critical achievement for Roll Group, reflecting their growing expertise and expanding capabilities. With prior successes in the Middle East, where the Gantry Crane system will continue to be utilized over the next two years, Roll Group is poised for steady growth. This is aligned with their strategic goal to expand their asset base and increase availability for critical transport and lift projects worldwide.

To meet the rising demand for gantry projects, Roll Group has initiated the fabrication of a second gantry system, expected to be operational by the end of 2024. This new system will feature enhanced capacity and capabilities, ensuring that Roll Group remains at the forefront of the market, ready to tackle the most challenging heavy lift projects.

Roll Group’s continued innovation and dedication to providing comprehensive transport solutions underscore their leadership in the industry. Their ability to adapt and expand their capabilities positions them well to meet the evolving demands of the global market.
