Roll Group expands in Asia

Heavy lifting and moving specialist Roll Group, which includes Roll-Lift and RollDock, has opened offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Korea.

It is the latest stage in the Dutch company’s bid to expand its land-based operations and to further make the most of combining land and sea projects, the company said. Robin Koenis has been appointed managing director at Roll Group in the Asia Pacific region.

Commenting on the move Adriaan Aarts, Roll Group CEO, said, “Robin Koenis has a remarkable track record for over 22 years in the Middle East and Asia and is a common name in the heavy lifting and transportation world.”

Robin Koenis said, “Many subcontractor offices are located in Singapore and the APAC region is characterised by strong chemical and shipping industry clusters, so we need to be here.’’

Roll Group APAC has added engineers and sales staff for the region. Self propelled modular transporter (SPMT) from Scheuerle in Germany has joined the fleet and will be put straight to work there, the company said. Cranes from elsewhere will be moved in for the lifting work.

A factory to foundation service worldwide is offered by Roll Group via heavy lifting and transport services from Roll-Lift and the heavy lift semi-submersible shipping service offered by RollDock. RollDock was started in 2006 by Frans van Seumeren, former Mammoet and before that Van Seumeren company CEO. He started the lifting and transport division Roll-Lift in 2011.
