Scan Global Logistics Opens Three New Offices

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) opens three new offices in West Africa and France this month.

As the logistics provider expands its global footprint, so does the number of employees. Three weeks ago, Group CEO Allan Melgaard signed an acquisition agreement with UK-based Horizon International Cargo Limited, the 7th in 2021. With three new offices opening within the last months, the ambitious company’s growth strategy through acquisitions and organic growth is very much on track.

The ambitions to further extend the SGL footprint are not fulfilled neither in Europe nor in the African region, explains Allan Melgaard: “Continuously opening new offices is in line with our strategy to strengthen our local presence while providing uncomplicated global logistics solutions. We will plant more local flags around the world in the years to come”.

Growing organically
First, there was one; now there are two. It is only six months since SGL opened its first office in Lille, France, to secure a strategically strong position to provide uncomplicated logistics to key European markets. Now, the rapid growth has added yet another office in Dijon to expand the services of delivering efficient logistics solutions to new and existing customers.

Meanwhile, in West Africa, acknowledging the affirmative demand for transport within, to, and from the region, two offices open in Cotonou, Benin, and Lomé, Togo. In close collaboration with the already established SGL offices in the neighboring countries, Mali, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast, they will provide commercial air and ocean freight forwarding services and inland container haulage in the entire region.

Based on SGL’s more than 45 years of experience in emergency logistics worldwide, expanding its West African logistics network will further strengthen its position as one of the leading freight forwarders in the humanitarian sector in West Africa.

Brand new offices, experienced staff

Senior logistics experts have been hand-picked for each location to provide customers with extensive full-service logistics from day one. To fulfill the future ambitions, the focus continues to attract staff to support the growth journey of the Nordic logistics provider with the global network.
