Subsea7 Secures Major Contract in US Gulf of Mexico

Subsea7, a global leader in subsea engineering and construction, has announced the award of a sizeable contract for a subsea tieback project in the US Gulf of Mexico. The contract, valued between $50 million and $150 million, marks a significant development for the company as it further strengthens its presence in this key region.

The scope of work involves the transportation and installation of critical subsea infrastructure, including a flowline, umbilical, and associated subsea components for the tieback. The project is a key step in enhancing subsea production in the Gulf, which continues to play a vital role in offshore energy development.

Project management and engineering activities will kick off immediately, with operations centered at Subsea7’s office in Houston, Texas. Offshore work, however, is slated to begin in 2025, signaling a multi-year engagement for Subsea7 in this project.

Craig Broussard, Vice President of Subsea7 for the Gulf of Mexico, highlighted the company’s collaborative approach: “Our strategy of early engagement and close collaboration with clients allows us to approach projects with an open mind and a deep understanding of client needs. This helps us explore innovative, cost-effective ways to deliver optimized energy solutions.”

This contract not only underlines Subsea7’s technical expertise but also underscores the company’s continued success in the highly competitive US Gulf of Mexico market. As offshore energy projects grow in complexity and scale, Subsea7’s role in delivering key infrastructure has proven critical to operators in the region.

With this new contract, Subsea7 reaffirms its commitment to innovative and cost-efficient solutions, further enhancing its position as a leader in the subsea sector. The company’s involvement in the project also aligns with ongoing efforts to streamline energy production in the Gulf of Mexico, an area recognized for its potential in advancing offshore oil and gas developments.
