Subsea7 Secures Sizeable Subsea Installation Contract in West Africa

Subsea7 has announced the award of a sizeable contract for a subsea project offshore West Africa, involving the transport and installation of key infrastructure to support an upcoming floating production campaign.

The project scope includes the installation of flexible pipelines, umbilicals, and other subsea components. These elements will enable the connection of a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. Additionally, Subsea7 will perform pre-lay activities ahead of a scheduled drilling campaign.

While the client’s identity and exact field location remain undisclosed, the announcement signals continued momentum in West Africa’s offshore oil and gas development.

Project management and engineering efforts will begin immediately at Subsea7’s offices in Sutton, UK, and Suresnes, France. Offshore operations are slated to commence in 2026.

Jérôme Perrin, Vice President Africa, Middle East, and Türkiye at Subsea7, emphasized the importance of close collaboration: “Our close and agile collaboration with our clients allows us to make possible cost-effective and reliable offshore solutions for their needs. We are pleased to be able to support this client in executing such a strategically important project in West Africa.”

The contract, classified as “sizeable” by the company’s internal standards, typically ranges between USD 50 million and USD 150 million. This puts the deal in the mid-tier of Subsea7’s project value spectrum, underscoring its significance while remaining within manageable operational complexity.

This award highlights the continuing importance of the West African region as a key frontier for subsea development. With several deepwater projects underway or planned off the coasts of Angola, Nigeria, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire, Subsea7’s presence in the region reinforces its role as a go-to contractor for integrated subsea solutions.

As offshore stakeholders continue to prioritize reliable execution and cost efficiency, companies with local experience and deep technical capability—such as Subsea7—remain well-positioned to support complex subsea tieback and FPSO integration projects across Africa’s offshore basins.
