Swire Projects:Wind Energy Cargo Shipment to Propel Vietnam’s Renewable Energy Progress

Swire Projects has successfully delivered four complete windmill sets, a shipment totaling an impressive 34,000 cubic meters, from Dafeng, China, to Vung An, Vietnam. The cargo, destined for the Hai Anh 40MW Wind Power Project in Quang Tri Province, signifies a pivotal step forward in Vietnam’s renewable energy journey. With the government’s increasing emphasis on clean energy solutions, this project is yet another testament to the growing momentum in Southeast Asia’s green energy landscape.

The Hai Anh Wind Farm is setting new standards in the region. Featuring eight state-of-the-art WH5.25-172 wind turbines from Electric Wind Power, it boasts the largest onshore wind turbine diameter in Vietnam. This landmark project spans 855 hectares and marks Electric Wind Power’s inaugural foray into Vietnam. It also underscores the country’s ambition to transition to sustainable energy sources, reinforcing its commitment to global environmental goals.

The shipment’s components, including towers, nacelles, hubs, blades, and a range of accessories, were expertly managed aboard Swire Projects’ Pacific Integrity, a multipurpose I-Type vessel. This 19,600 deadweight tonnage vessel, outfitted with dual 240-ton cranes, ensured meticulous handling and secure transportation of every piece. The wind blades were carefully stacked in four tiers, while towers were securely arranged in two-tier formations on deck, with other critical components safely stowed in the vessel’s holds.

Vietnam’s renewable energy ambitions are gathering pace as the government ramps up efforts to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. Wind energy is emerging as a key driver in this green energy revolution, and shipments like this highlight the vital role logistics expertise plays in bringing such transformative projects to fruition. Swire Projects, established in 2020, continues to build a reputation for handling complex renewable energy logistics. Their commitment to fostering sustainability aligns seamlessly with Vietnam’s energy goals, bridging the gap between technology and implementation.

The Pacific Integrity’s voyage is not just a testament to Swire Projects’ technical acumen but also a reflection of the broader opportunities within the green energy sector. With wind power positioned as a cornerstone of Vietnam’s clean energy future, the Hai Anh Wind Power Project exemplifies how innovative logistics solutions can enable large-scale sustainable development.

Swire Projects has carved a niche in specialist shipping for the energy and infrastructure sectors, bringing together an efficient network of resources across its diversified fleet. Their ability to deliver tailored solutions resonates with the needs of project logistics clients, reinforcing their role as a trusted partner in renewable energy and infrastructure projects worldwide.
