Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has been awarded a conditional contract with Liwei Wind Power Co. Ltd., a company wholly owned by wpd Group, for the transport and installation of 36 (Vestas) V164-9,722MW wind turbines on the Guanyin Offshore Windfarm in Taiwanese waters.
Fred. Olsen Windcarrier will continue to utilize Brave Tern – one of its special purpose-built jack-up installation vessels that arrived in Taiwan in July 2020 to start working on the Asian emerging market.
The Guanyin Offshore Windfarm (350 MW) is located approx. 2 km off the northwest coast of Taiwan. Installation will be carried out during 2022 and when finished, the Guanyin windfarm will supply power to more than 250.000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions with more than 500.000 tonnes per year.
